About San Antonio

San Antonio is a city rich in culture and tradition, with a live entertainment scene that blends Texan heritage, world-class sports, and vibrant festivals. The Frost Bank Center is home to the Spurs and hosts major concert tours, family shows, and the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo each February, one of the largest in the country drawing over 1.5 million visitors. The Alamodome, a 64,000-seat domed stadium, hosts college football games including the Valero Alamo Bowl, international soccer matches, and major concerts. The Majestic Theatre on Houston Street is a breathtaking 1929 atmospheric theater that presents Broadway touring shows, concerts, and comedy events, with a ceiling designed to resemble a night sky over a Spanish courtyard. The Tobin Center for the Performing Arts on the River Walk is a modern venue hosting the San Antonio Symphony, ballet, and touring performances. The Aztec Theatre downtown adds another historic concert venue. The River Walk itself is a entertainment destination with restaurants, bars, and seasonal events including holiday river parades. Fiesta San Antonio each April is an eleven-day citywide celebration with over 100 events including parades, music, food, and cultural festivities honoring the city's diverse heritage. The mild winter climate and long warm seasons support outdoor events from October through May, while the hot summers from June through September push events indoors to air-conditioned venues.
