What to expect
“Broadway” strictly means the large theatres in New York’s theatre district around Times Square. Touring Broadway productions take those shows on the road, playing a run of several weeks or more at one theatre in Philadelphia before moving on. Long-running hits keep adding dates for months or years, while limited runs close on a set date, so book those sooner.
Most shows play evening performances through the week plus weekend matinees, and matinees are a popular choice for families and day trips. Mid-week performances usually have more seats to choose from than Friday and Saturday nights. Check each listing for the performance time, theatre and seat map before you buy.
